چکیده
ABSTRACT Sediment gravity flows are natural composed by water and sediment in which the gravitational flow acts on sediment. The distinct physical properties of cohesive (clay) non-cohesive (sand) sediment, interaction between these particles alter ability to resist movement (rheology) along time space, represented viscosity a mixture suspension. Hence, we propose study rheological those mixtures calculate their relative when used simulation turbidity currents. Rheological tests were performed with various water, clay and/or coal. Two equations proposed estimate as function volume concentration each maximum packing fraction percentage present mixture. results also show an error close 20% comparing similar models from literature, satisfactory. demonstrate that caution should be exercised generalizing use single model predict suspensions. influence density (ρ), grain shape, (Cclay), volumetric (ϕ) packaging (ϕmax) considered formulation equations.

The Gravity Model and Iran's Trade Flows
This article has considered the volume and direction of Iran’s trade using the gravity model. The major issue in this analysis is to explore why Iran over or under-traded with the 76 countries relative to the predicted trade flows of the model. The study attempts to explore the reasons from the respect of both the model itself and Iran’s trade structure. This is done by analysing the performanc...
متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
A New Model for Prediction of Heat Eddy Diffusivity in Pipe Expansion Turbulent Flows
A new model to calculate heat eddy diffusivity in separating and reattaching flows based on modification of constant Prt is proposed. This modification is made using an empirical correlation between maximum Nusselt number and entrance Reynolds number. The model includes both the simplicity of Prt=0.9 assumption and the accuracy of two-equation heat-transfer models. Furthermore, an appropriate l...
متن کاملSubaqueous sediment gravity flows undergoing progressive solidification
Highly concentrated sediment flows may occur following failures of loosely compacted, granular slopes underwater or in waterfront areas. The mobility of such sediment flows is of considerable interest to the integrity of coastal fills, underwater pipelines and other such marine facilities. However, the physics of highly concentrated sediment-water mixtures is complex in nature and calls for mor...
متن کاملModel of Shear Viscosity for Underfill Flows
To analyze the flow of an underfill encapsulant between the chip and substrate, a shear viscosity model is needed. This paper presents a model of the viscosity for the flow of slurry between two parallel walls, which is a typical situation found in electronic packaging applications. It is postulated that the flow behavior of a dense slurry is governed by the particle-particle and particle-wall ...
